September 11,

This webinar is led by Ricardo Zapata-Marti, an International Consultant with extensive experience in disaster management and climate change adaptation. This session will explore the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) tool, focusing on its origins, validation, and its critical role in assessing the impacts of various disaster contexts, including natural and climate-related phenomena, conflict and peacebuilding, and health crises like pandemics. The discussion will include examples from Africa and other regions, illustrating how the PDNA has been adapted to different disaster contexts. Additionally, the webinar will highlight the tool’s application in establishing adaptation and mitigation costs, referencing its use in climate change research and analysis, including the IPCC 2007 report.
