A. Sezin Tokar is the Senior Hydrometeorological Hazard Advisor at USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), the lead federal office responsible for coordinating the U.S. government’s response to international disasters. She provides technical expertise and guidance on how to prepare and respond to climate, weather, and water-related disasters. She also oversees OFDA’s hydrometeorological early warning and capacity-building programs. In addition, Dr. Tokar is OFDA’s technical lead on disaster risk reduction and served in various global platforms and high-level working groups.
